The biannual “Internal Security Review” is a scientific journal published since 2009 with a focus on interdisciplinary issues related to the protection of the constitutional order of the state. The topics of the articles cover a wide range of areas related to national security, e.g. legal issues, activities of institutions and organizations responsible for the protection of the constitutional order of the state as well as analyses of current and projected security status in the national and international perspectives.
The journal contains 4 sections.
The Articles section features a variety of scientific articles.
The Review Articles/Reviews section features critical analyses, reviews and evaluations of academic and other publications whose subject matter is related to the journal’s focus.
The Awarded theses section features articles, which are based on master’s theses and doctoral dissertations that have been awarded in the contest of the Head of the Internal Security Agency for the best doctoral, master’s or bachelor’s thesis on state security in the context of intelligence, terrorist and economic threats.
The Varia section includes texts that align with the journal’s focus but are not academic papers, interviews with security experts, as well as coverage and reports from academic conferences.
Authors of the articles are officers of the Internal Security Agency and other uniformed services of the Republic of Poland, academics from universities, scientific institutions and research centers as well as specialists in fields related to the protection of national security. The Academic Editorial Board and reviewers supervise the scientific rigor of the articles.
Internal Security Review is included on the MEIN list of scored journals with a value of 20 points.
The access to the articles is free of charge. The journal is distributed, among others, to state administration bodies, libraries of state institutions’ training centers and universities which teach in the fields related to internal security.
The articles in „The Internal Security Review” are published open access under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA4.0 (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International) licence.
„The Internal Security Review” is published in Polish and translated into English.
