Publishing House Publication ethics -

The Publishing House of the Internal Security Agency applies the principles of publication ethics and scientific credibility in order to counteract unfair practices. We also ensure confidentiality and security of personal data processing.

Articles are reviewed exclusively in terms of content. Citizenship, nationality, race, sex, religion or political beliefs of authors do not influence the reviews.

Responsibilities of authors

1. Authors submit original articles, which have not been published or submitted for publication to any other journals, publishing house or electronic media (e.g. websites).
2. After receiving the information that the text has been accepted for publication, the author may retract it within 2 working days.
3. Authors take full responsibility for the published content unless stated otherwise (e.g. that they are responsible only for the part relating to their field of specialisation).
4. Authors are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest well in advance.
5. Ghostwriting and guest authorship are unacceptable.
6. In case of not upholding the standards of ethical behaviour by the author, the Publishing House of the Internal Security Agency reserves the right to reject the paper.

Responsibilities of reviewers

1. Reviewers cannot evaluate articles dealing with issues exceeding the scope of their scientific experience and competence.
2. Reviews should be meticulous, objective and justified.
3. Reviewers should meet the deadlines.
4. Reviewers should keep their opinions confidential until the articles they have reviewed are published.
5. Reviewers are not allowed to use data or concepts from the articles they have reviewed without their authors’ consent.

Responsibilities of the Publishing House of the Internet Security Agency

The Publishing House of the Internal Security Agency:

1. Ensures reliable and professional publishing process, including the editorial process.
2. Does not disclose information about the articles submitted for publication to unauthorized persons. The authorized persons include: authors, reviewers, editors and persons involved in the publishing process.
3. Provides selection of reviewers and supervision over the reviewing process.
4. Prevents conflicts of interest that may occur due to family, social or professional ties between authors and reviewers.
5. Verifies texts with anti-plagiarism software plagiat.pl.
6. Discloses and documents any cases of abuse of the publishing process, including notifying relevant entities (authors’ employees, scientific societies, associations of scientific editors, etc.).
7. Refers to complaints and appeals in written form.
8. Ensures that changes made at the editorial stage do not violate the fundamental ideas of the authors.
9. Is guided solely by the opinions of reviewers and editors while deciding whether an article should be accepted for publication or not. The decision is based on the assessment of the of the article, its relevance to the objectives and thematic scope of the journal as well as the risk of copyright infringement.
10. Reserves the right to publish scientific works by the Editor-in-Chief, members of the Academic Editorial Board and editors themselves. In accordance with the principles of publication ethics, these works undergo the publishing procedure without the participation of the persons mentioned. In such cases, the decisions on editorial procedures are made by the representatives of the publisher’s authorities.
